So what does it tell you?
It clearly highlights twelve of the most common ways in which unethical or inexperienced Search Engine Optimizers tend to give themselves away when trying to get your business, in an easy, entertaining way. Now you may have noticed that I ask for your email address, but unlike a lot of operators out there, I will not sell, share, lend, lease or disclose it to anyone to make a few extra dollars on the side.
This SEO Guide is definitely not another vehicle for building a spam email list.
The theory is simple:
Someone tells you they have some sensational information which you absolutely and positively need to know. They also tell you it's free, just as long as you give them your email address first. This email address then becomes part of an email list, which may well be sold to third parties, who will then proceed to fill your inbox with totally irrelevant spam until the end of days. In return you get two or three pages of information, most of which you either knew already, or which is totally incomplete and simply tries to force you into buying something from the writer. Nice, eh?
So... If I don't do that kind of thing, then what do I want your email address for?
Just as simple... I periodically write articles and reports about Google, SEO, Common Scams and such, like this piece for SitePro News a while back. By downloading my Guide to Shady SEOs you'll be notified immediately, every time I produce a new article or report. So go on, download it, and judge for yourself.
